In short:
- AGIRA lets you find out for free whether you are the beneficiary of a contract after a death.
- The insurers concerned contact the beneficiary themselves.
- Sums unclaimed after 10 years go to the Caisse des dépôts.
- They can then be searched for on the Ciclade website, also free.
Contacting AGIRA
The Association pour la gestion des informations sur le risque en assurance receives requests from anyone who thinks they are the beneficiary of a contract. The request is made online or by post, with the death certificate and details about the deceased. AGIRA forwards it to insurers, who contact the beneficiary if they find a contract.
When the contract is old: Ciclade
| Stage | Where to look |
|---|---|
| Recent death | Request to AGIRA |
| Sums unclaimed for 10 years | Search on Ciclade, a Caisse des dépôts service |
Documents to prepare
Death certificate, the applicant’s ID and, if possible, the name of the deceased’s bank or insurer. These speed up payment once the contract is identified.
